Block to the Boardroom (B2B) Academy

Where potential meets power.

A City Help of the Triad and Black Male Summit program that moves young men from the block to the boardroom — not as a slogan, as a sequence.

The Academy is the year-round engine behind the Summit. Where the Fall Forum is a first handshake and the Summit is a weekend, the Academy is the sustained work: workshops, mentorship, and service projects that stack over months.

Program pillars

Aspiration
Raise the ceiling first. Young men meet professionals who look like them and hear how the path actually got walked.
Agency
Skills that put decisions back in their hands — money, communication, conflict, and the discipline to follow through.
Access
Rooms, introductions, and internships. The door is the program; the Academy is what gets them through it.

How it runs

Workshops
Facilitated sessions on leadership, professionalism, and financial capability.
Mentorship
Sustained contact with community leaders, corporate executives, and college students.
Community service
Team projects that put the skills to work in Guilford County neighborhoods.
Summit pipeline
Academy participants staff and attend the Black Male Summit and the Fall Forums.
